For alexandrite, request imagery under different light sources to assess colour change. Verify natural or laboratory-grown origin and consistency with the report. Compare stones of similar measurements and a comparable visible colour-change effect.

Start with a preferred colour, carat range, millimetre measurements and stone budget. Open individual offers and compare matching specifications; total price and price per carat answer different questions.

Measurements, documentation and current price

For an existing setting, specify length, width and depth as well as carat weight. Review photographs and video where available. When a laboratory report is supplied, match its number, stone identity and treatment disclosures to the offer. A missing treatment field does not automatically mean untreated.
